After knocking out Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers thrashed Manchester city 2-0 to become the first team to reach this season’s FA Cup semi-finals.
Game was quite a cagey affair as both teams fight in the midfield through out the match, but Manchester city defence was once again poor as is pretty much the case this season. Mokoena scored the first goal for Blackburn in 28th minute while Derbyshire injury-time second.
It proved a bitter sweet afternoon for South African Mokoena as a late second yellow card left the home side to see out the remainder of the match with 10 man. But that too does not give any sort of momentum to struggling Manchester city.
Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce is a man under pressure at and this tame FA Cup exit will do little to ease City fans’ fears of another disappointing season.
