Arsenal is getting setback after setback this season. After lying in fourth spot at English Premier League, defeat at the hand of Chelsea in Carling Cup Final, they are knocked out of the FA Cup by struggling Blackburn Rovers.
Though, luck played some part in Arsenal defeat, as they dominated the whole match only to be denied by excellent goal from Blackburn striker Benni McCarthy. Playing without star player Thierry Henry, Arsenal had two reasonable first-half penalty appeals rejected, on the other hand Julio Baptista missed with a header and had a couple of shots saved.
Once again, Arsenal were poor in the defence especially Philippe Senderos who has develop a habit of conceding silly goals. This win for Blackburn means that they have a benefit of playing at home against Manchester City in next round of FA Cup. While Arsenal have to improve on their play if they want to qualify automatically for Champions league next season.
