Walk this Way, the Comic Relief single from Sugababes vs Girls Aloud, has marched to the top of the chart. Generally speaking, the tune, which raised plenty of money for charity, knocked Take That’s Shine off the top spot.

On the other hand, a second Comic Relief track, (I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles, starring comedians Peter Kay and Matt Lucas, was a new entry at number three. Good news for Ray Quinn as well as he has beaten fellow X Factor contender Ben Mills to number one in the album chart.

By doing this, the 18-year-old also set a record for being the youngest male artist to enter the UK album chart at number one without releasing a single. Elsewhere in the singles chart, Gwen Stefani featuring Akon maintained her number two position while Take That slipped three to four and Fray was at five with How To Save A Life.
