Once again Arsenal created lots of chances, but as is the case this season they can’t convert these chances into goal and of course they are prone to some lapses in defence. Striker Andrew Johnson’s stoppage-time goal was enough for Everton to beat mighty Arsenal. This victory means that Everton still has a chance to qualify for Europe next season.
Earlier, Johnson had worked hard throughout the game without really having a clear-cut chance to score goal until he crashed a shot past Arsenal’s Jens Lehmann after a corner. Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard saved well from Jeremie Aliadiere and mid fielder Cesc Fabregas but Arsenal missed the services of their captain and striker Thierry Henry who is injured at present.
Everton has now moved up to sixth place in the Premiership table, just a point behind Bolton and with those two sides scheduled to meet on 9 April at the Reebok Stadium, Everton can move up the ladder in league table.
