Good news for Marlon Samuel. After being charged with a match fixing scandal, he has got a much-needed support from both the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) as well as his captain Brian Lara. According to report, WICB has decided to continue supporting Marlon Samuels, as it believes he has done nothing wrong. Though, the board would let the investigation take its course. WICB president Ken Gordon has said that until and unless Marlon Samuels proved guilty, there will be no sanctions against him.
Brian Lara, the West Indies captain, too had given his support to Samuels and said that, with the World Cup in the Caribbean coming up, Samuel need to focus on his cricket rather than on an off-field incident. All these statements clearly indicate that Samuel will get the world cup berth in the Westindess team, scheduled to be named before Feb 13.
